Part of a larger exhibit called "Minnesota Eats" at Minnesota’s 2015 State Fair, this project is the result of a partnership of AIGA Design for Good and The Common Table. The 2nd annual local food stories exhibit, it focused on six interactive and educational stations, each containing a message and action around local and sustainable food topics.
Over the course of about 7 months, from initial research, design thinking, concepting, messaging, designing, prototyping, testing, and producing, our team created an exhibit on reducing food waste in your kitchen. “Make Food, Not Waste” is an interactive, hands-on kitchen display space showing how to reduce food waste in a relatable and meaningful way to viewers.
With Minnesota's State Fair attendance of 1.8 million people in 2015, and hundreds of thousands of visitors engaging with the Minnesota Eats exhibit, this food exhibit got quite a bit of foot traffic being at Minnesota's biggest annual celebration of food. If you visit the Agriculture Horticulture building next year, you can see the next round of the exhibit!
There are 5 other awesome stations within the exhibit all on other sustainable food topics. View The Common Table's site for more photos and info of the whole exhibit.
And, see the exhibit featured on Kare 11!
