Death by Slang
Have you ever noticed how creepy ad industry slang is? We did. Once you start looking for it, it's funny how often these sometimes morbid words get thrown around without a second thought as to their origin or true meaning. "Drinking the Kool-Aid" means being a blind follower, but it's also a reference to a horrible tragedy at Jonestown. And if you weren't already cringing at that "Post Mortem" meeting invite, you might now—while you rethink casual office references to dead bodies. Ad people can be so overdramatic.
